Born in Mafra in 1941, Professor José Medeiros is one of the most emblematic and respected figures in the study of Alchemy, Hermeticism and Spiritual Traditions in the Portuguese-speaking world. With a solid multidisciplinary background in Chemistry, Architecture and History, combined with decades of teaching and anthropological research, he has dedicated his life to the study of hidden knowledge, sacred geometry and the symbolic language carved into the architecture and the "stone books" of Portugal.
Currently President of the Academy of Ancient Knowledge, he is the author of a wide body of work that includes classics such as Manual de Alquimia Vegetal (Manual of Vegetal Alchemy), Os Caminhos Esotéricos de Portugal (The Esoteric Paths of Portugal) and Os Caminhos Ocultos do Ocidente (The Hidden Paths of the West), as well as several reference works on the Templar Tradition and the Order of Christ. Recognised for his unique ability to unite the precision of science with the depth of hermetic philosophy, Prof. José Medeiros continues to teach and inspire generations in inner transmutation, self-knowledge and the preservation of ancestral wisdom.
At the congress, he speaks on alchemy and the hermetic traditions linked to the Mafra National Palace and its Library.
